Frequently Asked Questions

These are the frequently asked questions regarding shipping, returns, problems, custom item requests, credit card security, and items in stock.

Where can you ship?

We can ship to almost any address in the world.  Please note that there are some regulations and restrictions on some of our products.  Some items cannot be shipped internationally and, if known, will be noted in the product's description.

 

When do you ship out orders?

Most items can ship out the next business day if ordered before 6:00 PM EST.  Some items are in the back of all the boxes and some styles and variations are more uncommon and are made to order so they will take longer as noted on the item’s description. In the case of any customization such as different chains, colors, styles, materials, please add 2-3 extra days.  If it takes longer than that, we will contact you by the next business day to let you know when it will ship.

 

How long will delivery take?

We ship through USPS and so order sent to the USA should arrive in 5-6 business days and in most cases faster than that even for first class shipping.  If you are ordering internationally, please check with USPS’s website at www.USPS.com for expected delivery times to your country.  If you want your item more quickly, we can arrange for Express Mail delivery.

IMPORTANT:  If you decide to choose the economy parcel post shipping option, there will be NO TRACKING information.  We will have no idea where or when your package is and we will have no way to look up any information from the shipping carrier.  If you are in the USA, please choose either First Class or Priority shipping so we can add tracking to your package.  If you are international, please choose the Priority Mail option or we cannot track the package and the USPS cannot confirm delivery.

 

How much is shipping?

We offer extremely reasonable prices for shipping (just like we offer reasonable prices on our unique items). When YOU place an order, the shipping calculator on our website will estimate the cost based on the weight of the item and shipping option you choose.  The weight of any given item can be found in the product description page. 

 

If you choose First Class shipping, items are shipped through USPS by First Class mail with delivery confirmation and tracking.  The weight of any given item can be found in the product description page. 

 

If you choose Priority Shipping, items are shipped through USPS by Priority mail with delivery confirmation and tracking. If your item weighs less than 13 ounces, you may want to choose First Class shipping to save a few bucks.  We have found that the delivery times for First Class did not vary very much from Priority Shipping.

IMPORTANT:  International customers!  We declare the actual value of the item on the customs form.  Please do not ask us to write a lower number.  We want to stick around for many years.  Most of us are parents and we encourage our children not to lie so we cannnot in good conscience do it ourselves.  There may be import customs, duties, tariffs or taxes that your country charges you.  You are responsible for paying these fees and they are NOT included in our shipping price.  If an item is refused due to non payment of customs duties, we will not be able to refund your shipping price. 

 

Do you charge sales tax?

It's the law!  We must charge 6.25% sales tax to orders shiped to Massachusetts.  YOU can look at it this way, it is actually a GOOD thing that we collect sales tax.  It means we are a legit business and file taxes and pay them!  We are in good standing with Uncle Sam and will always stay that way.  We follow rules, laws and regulations and we don't try to cheat anybody out of anything!

 

What happens if an item is not in stock?

Most of our items are handmade and sometimes we are unable to source (find) components because they might be vintage, discontinued or unavailable. Due to demand, uniqueness and difficulty/time consumption of the labor of putting together our items, some of the quantities are limited. Every once in a while, styles, colors and options will go out of stock and some will be discontinued.  If you see something you love… don’t wait. Buy it today. It may not be here tomorrow.

 

What is your returns policy?

We really really really (did I mention really?) want you to like, make that love, your item.  Handmade items are made with love and care.  If for ANY reason you don't want it, you may return it within 60 days for full refund of the sale price.  If we made a mistake with your order, sent you the wrong item, or heaven forbid, sent you a defective item (which very very seldom happens), we will pay for the return shipping too.  If you were given a free gift, please keep it no matter the reason for the return and enjoy! 

 

What happens if I have a problem with my item but it is over the 60 day period?

Please let us know!  We need feedback to make our items as durable, robust, and useful as possible.  If it is in our power to do so, we will try to fix it or replace it depending on the problem with the item.  Sometimes we try out parts from new sources that don't wear as well so we really need to hear about it and if let us know, we will do everything in our power to fix the problem and prevent it from ever happening to anyone else.

 

Can I request a custom item?

Yes, YOU can!  We have one person who handles all custom requests so the wait time will depend on how many custom requests she gets and how difficult or time consuming it is to locate the parts and/or construct the item.

 

Is it safe to purchase online?

We do everything we can to ensure a safe transaction.  We moved to a larger e-commerce platform, BigCommerce, which is the number 1 shopping software in the world.  Your payments can go through PayPal or our merchant service PayLeap which meets all PCI Compliance for Data Security.  We use SSL which is the top way for companies to secure transmission of private stuff over the web  It encrypts your data so no one can understand it while it is traveling aound the internet from my site to say the credit card processing site.   See our privacy page for even more on our online security.  It's not that boring I promise!

 

Can I copy your stuff?

All content on our website, including text, pictures, logos and videos is protected by copyright laws.  You may copy, print, and link your our products and pages for personal use such as sharing with freinds.  You may NOT link to our pages from your shopping site without prior written permission.  Our logo is a trademark and is not to be used to click to any other site.  Unique designs are copyrighted or patent pending.  We want to be Unique by being YOU gNeek.  We can stay that way if our items are not found in every corner store.

 

Do you wholesale?

We don't want these items found in every store and shelf.  If you are interested in wholesaling, please contact us on our contact page to apply for special consideration.
